We Are The New Heathen

I read an article by Dr. Gene Veith entitled The Old Mission Field. He wrote:
"But we would do well to think of ourselves in the same way we used to think about the lost people of the mission field.... We are the ones with brutal customs, such as aborting our infants, neglecting our children, and abandoning and sometimes euthanizing our elders. We have simple, pounding music, and we are uneducated about the realities outside of our tribe. With our limited mind-set, we have trouble grasping the truths of Scripture."

The Third World countries that received our missionaries are now the ones holding the line against some modern day heresies. At a recent Methodist General Assembly, the American led contingent sought to modify the churches teachings on homosexuality. It was the Third World Methodists that blocked them. Korea has almost caught up with the United States in the sending out of foreign missionaries. As we move into the next four years with a Democratic President and Congress, watch what occurs from a moral perspective. See if we move further in our direction of heathenism. God help us and send us some faithful missionaries to help the remnant declare the absolute truths of God's Word.

The world has always rejected true Christianity. The Bible says so. It was the fictitious idea of a "Christian nation" that came along when Constantine merged church and state that caused people to think otherwise. The way has always been hard, the road has always been narrow, the gate has always been strait, and Satan has been the ruler of this world's political, military, economic and cultural systems. People need to open their eyes to the truth as was expressed by Jesus Christ in the book of John as well as in the book of His disciple James. Friendship with the world is emnity with Jesus Christ.
