Worry: The Child of Fear and Unbelief

Worry is the offspring of fear and unbelief. Where you find fear and unbelief, worry will soon be forthcoming. Worry says that you believe that you have remembered something that YHVH has forgotten. Do you see that worry is an offense to Him? He has promised you certain things that if you believe Him, you would not worry. Isaiah 41:10 says: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." If you believe that YHVH said that and if you believe He can do it, why would you worry? Peter wrote: "Cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares about you." (RSV) The word "cast" is the Greek word epiriptō and it means to throw or cast upon. Envision playing catch with someone; you throw them a ball and they catch it. That is how we are to treat worry. We are to throw it to YHVH. Trust that He will catch it and never throw it back.

You are commanded not to steal. To steal something is to take something that does not belong to you. Worry, fear, and unbelief do not belong to you. They belong to Satan. They aren't yours and you have no business taking the enemy's stuff. The opposite of worry is trust. Proverbs 3:5 says: "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." The word trust is the Hebrew word bāṭaḥ and it means "to trust, to be confident. It expresses the feeling of safety and security that is felt when one can rely on someone or something else." If you feel secure in God, you will feel safe and secure.

We live in difficult times. However, we need not worry. We should not take something that does not belong to us and worry, fear, and unbelief do not belong to a child of God.
