No, I am not talking about "cussing." I am talking about cursing those things that that should be cursed. Peter said in Mark 11:21: And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. (KJV) Yeshua had cursed the fig tree and it withered from the roots. The word "cursedst" is the Greek word kataraomai and it means to wish evil or to ruin. It carries the sense of proclaiming doom on something or someone. What should we be cursing? John 10:10 says: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJV) Draw a line on the floor. If something steals from you, kills, or destroys, it comes from the thief. The thief is Satan. On the other side are those things that come from God; the things that give us life and life more abundantly. Where would cancer fit? What about financial lack? What about good health and money in the bank to pay your bills? It is really quite simple; curse the things that come from Satan and bless God for those things that come from him.
We have seen that words have power. Yeshua's words contained the power to wither the fig tree. When we speak anointed words from a believing heart, they have the power to curse the works of Satan. We need to look at the events of our lives and determine which category that they are in? Are they life producing words or words of destruction? We need to become more aware of our authority to curse the works of Satan. Too often we just accept sickness, disease, or lack. We should be actively engaged in using the power of God's word to defeat the enemy at every opportunity. We should concede nothing.
Start cursing those things that belong to the enemy. If something is giving life and life more abundantly, speak words of blessing. Give thanks to God who gives us the good things in life. Do not accept theft, killing, or destruction in your life. Speak words of power. Speak words of cursing when you confront the works of darkness.
